The Journal of International Law and Policy proudly presents its 2006 symposium on Family Planning and AIDS Policies in the International Community to be held on March 3, 2006. This year's symposium will be a dialogue on the interaction and power imbalance between the developed and developing world as it plays out in family planning and AIDS policies. Discussing the increasingly complex set of problems surrounding sexual and reproductive health in the international community is vital to the growing field of international law.

The planned format of the symposium will be panel discussions focusing on (1) gag rules and value imposition; (2) legal impediments to gender equality; (3) domestic countries' reinforcement of power imbalances. We will include the expertise of academics and practitioners from the legal as well as the medical fields. Individuals interested in attending or participating in this year's symposium should contact Sarah Cox at smcox@ucdavis.edu or Melissa Schutz at meschutz@ucdavis.edu.
